Completed earlier in 2012, the 156 square meter home was designed to fill in some ruins on the elevated site. The beautiful stone walls were left virtually undisturbed and two identical modular boxes “filled in” the rest of the plot. This kind of design lens a certain cost and material efficiency to the modest residence.

Both solar-powered and insulated to the nigh in order to mediate the home’s energy consumption, N2X035 also has a rainwater harvesting system that is used for irrigation. The bright white interior might be off-putting to some of our readers, but one thing is for certain, there’s plenty of light inside and the views of surrounding Portugal are definitely not for sale.
