- [email protected] by Serie Architects and Multiply ArchitectsThe <a href="http://www.nus.edu.sg" target="_blank">National University of Singapore (NUS)</a> just broke ground on its first net-zero energy building that will use solar panels and energy-efficient systems to produce as much energy as it consumes. Designed by international office <a href="http://www.serie.co.uk/" target="_blank">Serie Architects</a> in collaboration with Singapore Studio <a href="http://www.m-ply.com.sg/" target="_blank">Multiply Architects</a>, the climate-responsive building will serve as a living laboratory and include teaching and research facilities for the NUS School of Design and Environment. The building, known as [email protected], will be an addition to the School of Design and Environment’s three existing buildings.1
- [email protected] by Serie Architects and Multiply ArchitectsThe six-story [email protected] will be powered by 1,200 rooftop solar panels and feature a range of other green building designs, including a hybrid cooling approach, natural ventilation, and natural lighting.2
- [email protected] by Serie Architects and Multiply ArchitectsThe contemporary building includes a large overhanging roof to shade the interior from the overbearing tropical sun, while its porous layout allows for cooling cross-breezes for a comfortable environment with minimal reliance on air conditioning.3
