Lighting designer Alex Fitzpatrick has created an energy-efficient, completely customizable lighting system that serves as both a functional wall fixture and a piece of custom abstract art. Each LightGarden fixture is made of three triangular panels arranged in a pyramid over LEDs. Instead of shining through the panels like a lampshade, the illumination is forced through the edges of the fixtures, creating a soft background light and creating beautiful geometric patterns on the wall where they are mounted.
The fixtures are 317 x 270 x 120 millimeters each, although alternate sizes are available by request. The metal panels can be made from either brass, copper, or steel to match your existing interior design. The best part? Each installation is a custom work of art — you can arrange the panels however you desire and let your creativity run free.
Originally hailing from Canada with a degree from the University of Alberta, Fitzpatrick now works out of Sydney, Australia where he heads ADesignStudio, a manufacturing and consultancy practice specializing in lighting design and development.
