The “Tusht” chair by Bassem Shaaban is a part of the “Wasteful Living” collection. While discussing the topic of wasteful living with a few colleagues he brought up the idea of making reclaimed furniture by region. He limited the distance he would travel to find the pieces to see how much harder it would be. The “Tusht” is completely reclaimed and recycled — all the materials that make the chair were claimed as “trash”, or found in dumpsters.

Wonderful idea. This one has my vote. If we were living in my idea of an ideal society, we’d all make our furnishings, live off the land, work for the neighborhood and planet, and no one would worry about personal profit.
