These bracelets are made from recycled plastic bags! Plastic bags can last up to 1,000 years in landfills, killing millions of birds and other wildlife. Jessica wanted to raise awareness of this problem by turning something we think of as insignificant (like plastic bags) into something we treasure. Jewelry can also last up to 1,000 years!

This is an amazing and innovative idea. Instead of disposing waste that would have a negative impact on our environment for a prolonged period of time, it’s a fantastic use of what we normally treat as waste by making it into something we would treasure for hundreds of years. Great Job!!

Most households have accumulated too many plastic bags from grocery store. I am really happy to see Jessica turned them into beautiful water-proof jewelry. Two thumbs up! Lusia

I think it is interesting to take mundane ordinary materials and transform them into something that is completely different.

The bangles are suitable as a marketable item.
I wonder as an art student if you might what to be bolder in your use of materials. Let’s say a whole belt, necklace, jacket, flip flops with a woven bottom and top, or a large purse,
