Allegedly the bike was designed by Edward Kim and Benny Cemoli, but we’re not entirely convinced. The INgSOC’s frame is constructed from carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (also widely accepted to be of extraterrestrial origin).
A battery powers the motor as well as a headlight and rear tail lights, plus an iPhone charging dock for, you know, phoning home. What do you think of the INgSOC? Check out the sharp details on this bike in the gallery below.

How ironic. People are so gullible to think this "bike" is in production. Just the type of gullibility of a prole who believes Ingsoc has their best interests at heart.

When can i have one?

This is an electric bicycle concept of 2011 and nothing else. As a piece of art it is something to behold. As a bicycle it fails. There are also a lot of bits and pieces that don’t seem to have any fathomable purpose. INgSOC rendering to the prototyping stage with the help of Steven Mora from Digital Fabrications Laboratory at the University of New Mexico never took shape. What is see is a 3D digital image.

it will be amazing in cities with big slopes.

Wow, the shape of things to come are just fantastic, Can't wait!

INGSOC like in the novel 1984, George Orwell?

What kind of "Wear" does this bike do on the parts which are rubbing, i.e. Friction drive for Charging/running, etc?

It looks awesome, but what's the point? What problem does this design solve? What does this design do better than the traditional design?

Too coool! But how ergonomic is it, for actual riding? How far will it go per charge?

it's a mind blowing bike, i want 2, how much is it and how do i pay for it... i want it for my son's birthday.

Hubless wheels mean it is not a working prototype. Nothing to see here folks, only a guy with some graphic skills and no understanding of physics.

Will it be made in China like an Iphone?

I think it is great but I am amazed at all the negative comments. Instead of being positive some people are just venting their frustration and inability of doing something or creating something.
Instead of hammering people who are creative and who reach a result, do something on your own, put it on the web and then we are talking.
have a cool day

Beautiful but ineffective:

The best improvement to the design would be a gyro sensor that would automatically kick the bike into battery recharge mode when going downhill.. Otherwise it loooks awesome.

This concept's been around for years. I prototyped a hubless full suspension back in 2004. The engineering development costs for the drive and rim race are intimidating. I'm still waiting for a ridable model.

Hybrid Bike is great designed toy need to be simplify and practical in order to sell.

Does it have a kickstand and a basket

Fun to look at! I'd really like to see how you change a flat...Still not sure its a good idea to watch TV while riding your space bike.

This is a fantastic concept. However, upon looking at the details of the pictures, this is only an expertly crafted CGI (I can tell by the designs plus the iPhone was the real bait that got me noticing). Nonetheless, I would love to see the physical concept model in action.

I love the fantastical look. That hubless design would be interesting to see in mass operation.

Pretty, unique & efficient!!!

This is the coolest thing I've seen this year. Where do you get one and how much does it cost?

Chainless INgSOC hybrid bike is out of this world
INgSOC Hybrid Bike
1 of 9
Finally, proof that we're not alone - where else could the design of this INgSOC hybrid bike come from but an advanced alien species? The INgSOC combines the aerodynamic shape of a triathlon bike with flexible handling and hybrid tech to create a wild-looking chainless bike that runs in three modes: battery-powered, battery assist, and battery charge mode, where the user powers up the battery by pedaling.
