Do you know where to turn if you have an idea that will make society better? We are many who dream of change in our society, but turning those dreams into reality might prove to be a tricky deal. Soramist Chintanamanus, a recent MA graduate from the Interaction Design program at the Umeå Institute of Design in Sweden, teamed up with social business incubator ‘ChangeFusion’ to create ‘The Sync’, a social enterprise aiming to build a creative community for social entrepreneurs in Thailand.

The inspiration behind the project comes from the collaborative environment of his school ‘Umeå Institute of Design’ where the students are encouraged to ‘walk the walk’ and not just ‘talk the talk’. By bringing the same focus on implementation of ideas, ‘The Sync’ wants to encourage people going through an innovation process by creating a service ecosystem that provides a holistic experience.

The concept consists of three main service touchpoints: an online platform, events, and a physical space created as an ecosystem to encourage and push user engagement to the next level. Both the digital and physical platform serve as co-working spaces for collaborations and to share and discuss ideas. The events organized will give that extra push needed to keep the creative fire burning. The Sync is now up and running in Bangkok, Thailand, and they are currently implementing the foundation for the community.
