Anyone who has ever tried to park a car in a crowded city like San Francisco or New York City knows how much of a headache it can be with the packed streets and overpriced parking garages. Well, a company called Cocoa Motors has created a solution called the WalkCar. The WalkCar looks like an Apple Macbook, but it functions more like an electric skateboard that can travel at speeds of up to six miles an hour.

The WalkCar was conceived by Kunaiko Saito and is small enough to fit in a backpack. It only weighs up to 6.6 pounds and travels up to 7.4 miles on a full charge. It’s unlikely that a laptop could support the weight of rider, but the WalkCar is much stronger than it looks. Remarkably, this incredible device can hold up to 265 pounds. Saito says that the WalkCar is a better solution to urban mobility than the bulky Segway.

If you want the chance to own the WalkCar, you’ll be happy to hear Cocoa Motors is planning to let interested buyers reserve one on Kickstarter this fall. The WalkCar is expected to be priced around $800 and the first shipments will arrive by Spring 2016.
