Sturkenboom starts by selecting antique objects and covering them with a fluid which causes crystals to grow on the metal over time. In this way, every object in the collection is an entirely unique piece. The pieces are available for sale through Sturkenboom’s studio, although they don’t come cheap, starting at 850 euro. If you love the idea and want to see one of your own family heirlooms transformed, the studio is willing to give the crystal treatment to clients’ belongings as well.
