These solar-powered, mobile chicken coops help farmers prepare for harvest

Designers on Holiday has created the solar-powered Chicken Caravan.

The tiny structure features a pitched roof and two side wings that fold open.

The chicken coop is built on wheels so it can be easily moved.

The interior is installed with nesting boxes and perches.

The innovative design gives chickens access to fresh grass while avoiding overgrazing.

A solar sensor opens the front door in the morning and closes it in the evening.

The Chicken Caravan was created specifically for the farmers working at the Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano.

A small ramp lets the chickens come in and out easily.

The wings of the caravan open for shade and to let in natural air ventilation.
