The Floating Kayak Club in Denmark's Vejle Harbor is a sculptural wooden structure that doubles as a beautiful sun deck, barbecue area, outdoor kitchen and walkway. The two-volume floating building, designed by Danish design studio FORCE4 Architects, serves as a departure point for kayak enthusiasts interested in sailing into the fjord.
The building comprises two volumes that envelop a central water space and frame views of the direct sailing route into the fjord. Its angled geometry creates interesting spaces that strengthen the community and encourage different uses and activities. Community training and playing take place on the roof deck, which can also be used for barbecues and sunbathing. Ramps, walkways and stairs connect the two volumes and complete the loop flow.

The project is part of a large plan to transform Vejle harbor into a more interactive area. The Floating Kayak Club is one of the first buildings to mark the start of a large refurbishment plan and city development towards the fjord.
