Launched in 2014, Scandic To Go has popped up in over 40 locations throughout Scandinavia, from central Stockholm to Denmark’s Bornholm Island. Over 200 people have already spent a night in the mobile hotel room. The 18-square-meter suite comes with two beds, a sofa bed, a bathroom, an outdoor terrace, free WiFi, and even air conditioning. The rooms also come equipped with tea and coffee facilities, complimentary breakfast, and toiletries from FACE Stockholm.

Scandic To Go can be booked online. Guests can either choose from a list of suggested destinations or request a different location that Scandic will try to accommodate. The container suite can either plug into the local grid or, in remote locations, be hooked up to a generator. The portable hotel room comes with a water and sewage tank. The cost per night is paid in local currency (depending on the country the room is located) and is approximately USD $322 a night.
