Timber kindergarten sports a zigzag roofline to mirror the Swedish dune landscape

Danish architecture firm <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/dorte-mandrup-arkitekter-aps/" target="_blank">Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter</a> completed the Råå Day Care Center, a <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/kindergarten" target="_blank">kindergarten</a> that offers a stimulating environment next to the Swedish seaside. The timber-clad building takes on an asymmetrical form to mirror the rolling dune landscape. The gable rooflines and wood cladding were also inspired by the typology of local fishermen houses.

The fenced-in outdoor area features several sand pits for children to play.

. Geometric glazed openings also line the roof and other sides of the building to maximize natural light indoors.

An outdoor amphitheater and seating were constructed into a portion of the kindergarten's slanted roof.

The kindergarten's interior is kept light and airy and features white walls and light green-colored floors complemented by "bookcase-wall" dividers made from plywood.

Located on a stretch of replanted beach, the single-story Råå Day Care Center takes in views of the Øresund strait through large windows.

The building is primarily divided into four main group rooms for the four groups of children.
