The Life Pod is a $15,000 dome-shaped dream home on wheels

We love affordable <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/small-space-living/" target="_blank">tiny living spaces</a>, and this modular dome-shaped house seems to have it all. The 112-square-foot habitable <a href="https://www.facebook.com/tinydomehome/" target="_blank">Life Pod</a> built by inventor <a href="https://www.facebook.com/michaelr.weekes" target="_blank">Michael Weekes</a> comes at an affordable price and includes 100 square feet of living space, a full-sized bed, a shower, sink, a microwave oven and even a compostable toilet. Buckminster Fuller would be proud.

The 1,200-pound dome is a 13 1/2-foot long structure designed according to the Golden Ratio principle of proportion found in nature.

Michel Weekes built the 8-foot diameter Life Pod dome in only 10 weeks out of Luan plywood covered with TPO-thermoplastic polyolefin.

It offers 100 square feet of ventilated living space, a bed, kitchen, shower and sink, with a ceiling fan and oil burner heater powered by 110-volt electrical power obtained form an electrical outlet.

Weekes started the project in an attempt to create a viable affordable housing solution which can be delivered quickly in a modular way.

It also offers recreational, emergency relief and a safe dwelling option for natural disaster survivors and those looking to escape.

The pod will be available at a retail price of $15,000.
