What’s not to love about this awesome Tree Hotel? Designed by the Swedish group Inrednin Gsgruppen, it currently comprises five funky treehouse rooms with an additional 20 on the way. One of the rooms, this giant “bird nest,” is supported by the tree in which it is perched and covered in twigs. Reached via an retractable staircase, the interior does not look nearly as rustic as the outside.

Inside, the sparse furnishings and wall-to-wall wood paneling are chic and modern. The room is also relatively spacious, though it may not appear so. With capacity for a couple and two children, the Bird Nest room can accommodate one double bed and two singles. The real value of the room is how well it fits in to the surrounding landscape without displacing existing fauna and flora. We love all treehouses, but this hotel in Sweden is quickly becoming an Inhabitat favorite.
