Marcin and Federica from Vinella & Krupa use pyrography and painting to transform old dated furnishings into unique gems. Their Art Nouveau-inspired illustrations breathe new life into staid pieces that were once destined for a life of collecting dust.
Marcin and Federica are based in Edinburgh, and they enjoy giving new life to old furniture through pyrography and painting. They love taking inspiration from Art Nouveau pieces and have painted Klimt’s “Sleeping lady” on a low coffee table.
Another table found in a swap shop now features Edinburgh’s landscape under a pale blue sky. Alice in Wonderland is another reference for the creative couple – they have embellished a chair with scenes from Lewis Carroll’s novel.
When Marcin and Federica are not busy giving a bright new life to old furniture they can be found at Edinburgh’s Art’S Complex, where they teach courses on how to upcycle, decorate and reclaim old beloved furnishings.
