Developed by Related Companies, 520 West 28th Street will rise 11 stories above the ground and feature a spaceship-like, hand-rubbed metal finish that is signature Zaha. The building will be the award-winning architect’s first permanent work in New York City and will offer 39 luxurious residences.

Characterized by a unique chevron-patterned facade, the building will boast floor-to-ceiling glass walls framed by oblong, pill-shaped window casings that further add to its space-age aesthetic. A distinctive 2,500-square-foot “sculpture deck” will serve as a point of interest for both residents and passersby, showcasing artwork curated by High Line Art and commissioned by Related.

The amorphous lines that Hadid is known for carry through into the building’s interior spaces. The kitchens are centered around curvaceous kitchen islands, while the bathrooms feature roomy, rounded tubs. The baths also boast extra-long Boffi eco-wood vanities, radiant floor heating and built-in mirrors with Zaha Hadid-designed custom lighting.
