Since Zipcar’s car-sharing service was introduced, one of the biggest drawbacks has been that you have to return the vehicle back to the original pickup spot – making one-way trips impossible. The company has just announced the start of a new One-Way service that enable members to take point-to-point trips within cities, and to and from select airport locations, with the 2015 Honda Fit.
The new Zipcar One-Way service not only gives members more freedom to take single trips to places like the airport, but members could even use the service on a night out with friends. Members can use the one-way service to get to dinner or grab a few cocktails with friends and then take a cab home, alleviating the need to potentially drive intoxicated. Zipcar’s new service not only benefits members through increased flexibility, but also helps reduce congestion in cities as members are not circling the block searching for parking since there are designated parking spots with the one-way service.
“Honda has long been involved in the car sharing industry, and we believe that this program will help reduce emissions and city congestion while providing a new level of freedom and convenience to customers,” said Steven Center, vice president of the Environmental Business Development Office at American Honda.
