Maison & Objet’s Parcours Fil Vert Showcases Imaginative Eco Products at Paris Design Week

Swedish designer Iris Shantverk [8] has been making functional brushes since 1884, crafted from unusual biodegradable [9] materials including horse hair, cactus fibers and goat hair, paired with local wood to help to reduce water consumption.

These gorgeous Magno [10] Radios are made from non-certified FSC wood in Java. Created by local craftsmen they bring cool, retro styling to the ipod dock.

The Colors [11]´ designed Kioto Kamiko is a flat pouch for carrying everyday essentials, crafted using an ancient Japanese paper [12]-making technique. The paper is coated several times with PVA glue and then crumpled, during which is becomes stronger and waterproof.

Using knitted plants and recycled recycled fabrics, CO O & CO [13] create household objects that mix capim dorado with LEDs, felt, yute or straw with energy efficient pendant lights. The company sources their in Brasil, Poland, Korea and Kirghistan and employs local craftsmanship.

Fair Trade Unseen Products [14]—which includes nests and vases—are hand-made from recycled merino and karakul wool in South Africa.

Harry Allen [15]’s playful Paperwork lamps for Kenneth Cobonpue are created by casting antique oil lamps with pulp paper.

Bastien Carré [16] makes poetic yet high-tech ¨lumigraphies¨ that consist of mobiles, sculptures and pictures shining thanks to hundred of LEDs [17].

Tribe Design [18]´s Unlce L table lamp mixes fast-growing bamboo and walnut in this nicely detailed LED lamp that switches on/off by gently touching its base.

French design studio Goodbye Edison [19]‘s Les Fines lamps are made from recyclable steel with delicately concealed LEDs.

Cyclotte [20] is a sleek excersise monowheel [21] for the home, chainless, made in Italy and built using high-tech composite materials combining luxury, fitness and technology.

Based in a small Parisian studio, Le Deun-Luminaires [22] create handmade geometric LED chandeliers that last up to 50 years when used 24/7.
