Using a variety of materials to build their array of designs, the From the Source team will transform old abandoned railroad tracks or iron-wood into a solid chair, or a mobile table on wheels. Exposed to the elements and heavy trains over the years, each of the reclaimed planks [1] is riddled with holes and dark stains which are then embedded in the design.
Most of FTS’s work is constructed in their enormous 35,000 square foot studio in Greenpoint [2], and then shipped out across the US.
