From the Source Unveils Chiaroscuro Reclaimed Wood Collection at ICFF

    Brooklyn-based furniture purveyors <a href="http://fromthesourceny.com"> From the Source </a> recently unveiled a beguiling new range of reclaimed wood pieces at <a href="http://inhabitat.com/inhabitat-is-reporting-live-from-icff-2012/">this year's ICFF</a>, and we were instantly drawn to the collection's modern twist on recycled materials. Called the Chiaroscuro collection, the assortment of revamped sustainable furniture is made right out of FTS's Brooklyn warehouse. On top of being a local company, the studio recently received their <a href="http://www.fsc.org/certification.html">Forest Stewardship Council certification</a> for the use of salvaged wood.

    The team often transform old abandoned railroad tracks or iron-wood.

    They create either solid chairs, tables or even a mobile coffee table on wheels.

    Each of the planks are exposed to the elements and heavy trains over the years.

    They are riddled with holes and dark stains which are then embedded into the design.

    The studio create much of their work in their massive 35,000 square foot studio in Greenpoint.
