It seems former talk show host Rosie O’Donnell has joined the ranks of green celebs like Alec Baldwin [1] and Leonardo DiCaprio [2], reportedly [3] purchasing a 4-bedroom, 3-bath duplex in the 42-unit adaptive reuse building that was once St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City. The luxurious, $8 million pad located at 130 W. 12th Street [4] is equipped with filtered air and water systems, a customized wireless network, a green roof and a private terrace. Renovated by Cook + Fox Architects [5], the pre-war building is aiming to receive Leed-NC Silver certification from the US Green Building Council [6].

The prewar building was renovated by Cook+Fox Architects [5], who took measures to retain many of its historic features. Although many of the structure’s original design details have been left intact, floorplans have been re-imagined to create spacious living spaces equipped with modern amenities and energy-saving innovations.
HuffPo also reports [3] that other stars like Cameron Diaz and Blake Lively were said to have viewed the space before O’Donnell.
