O+A [1]‘s temporary stage was made using repurposed containers [2] as building blocks. It lasted only two weeks but it provoked long-lasting impressions due to its overwhelming scale. The containers were stacked horizontally and re-invented as pop-up stores, multi-level platforms and even a restaurant.

The restaurant features long communal tables that match the length of the container and even a corrugated bar. The project’s three-dimensional checkerboard structure creates an indoor/outdoor space that is both rough and “gezelligheid” (cozy). O+A’s temporary space was part of the Over het IJ [3] theater festival, which is held in the Dutch capital [4] every July.
