• ElliptiGO 3C Bike
We used to think that those giant unicycles were the wackiest cycles around, but nowadays they have a whole pack of contenders. And since any kind of human-powered transportation is as renewable as it comes, we thought we would celebrate all of our favorite human-powered innovations by sharing five awesomely weird bike-like vehicles that have us wanting to get out there and put the pedal to the metal. Check out our gallery to see them all!

• Sofa Bike
How can you go wrong with a sofa on wheels? The perfect transport for couch potatos, Jacek Holubowicz's sofa bike is pedaling perfection.

Since you're too lazy to put on sunscreen, the sofa bike also comes with an optional awning to keep your fair skin from burning in the sun it so rarely sees--at least until you found this awesome way to get around without leaving the couch.

• WISB Hand Bike
The WISB Hand Bike is for more than just fun. This innovative concept bike transforms from an all-terrain recumbent sport bike to a wheelchair with the push of a button.

• WISB Hand Bike
The WISB Hand Bike works by pumping these two handles forward and backward, which powers the bike or wheelchair forward in either mode.

• ElliptiGO 3C Bike
The ElliptiGO 3C Bike is an elliptical machine on wheels. Looks like an intense workout, if the legs of the models demonstrating the bikes are anything to go by.

• Chris Malloy's Hover Bike
Australian man Chris Malloy invented this hover bike, which can reach up to 10,000 feet.

• Chris Malloy's Hover Bike
The Hover Bike doesn't make it up to airplane altitudes by pedal power alone, but we love it just the same.
8
• Florian Hausworth's Lawnmower Bike
Finally, Florian Hausworth's lawnmower bike takes the cake as the most practical use of human power beyond getting from point A to point B.

• Florian Hausworth's Lawnmower Bike
There is something nostalgic about winding your way around your lawn on a bike mower a la childhood tricycle ride.
