    I really like the Gem idea – one could have their loved ones past on and on… I understand that they are not really “green” but it would be a better alternative than burial ( all that wasted space!

    Actually none of these options are green because they all require cremation first which is not green in the least. The amount of propane it takes to burn the body (which takes hours) and the release of chemicals like mercury from fillings and formaldehyde goes into the atmosphere. So sadly no, none of these options are green at all.
