• superuse
We recently stumbled on a site called Superuse which catalogs and promotes the idea of transforming waste into something useful or beautiful. Not all of the ideas on this site are fine art, but they're certainly all great ideas for reusing materials to reduce waste. While we haven't even begun to scratch the surface of all these clever innovations on the site, there are pages upon pages of amazing ideas -- like this reused CD spindle that makes for the perfect instant lunchbox for a bagel sandwich! Simply brilliant. You can see more of our favorite ideas for reuse after the jump!

The wheels are used and will, according to the maker, show signs of past use, scratches, dings, etc. To get rid of some of the grime, they've been scrubbed and cleaned up.

  • clijo toilet paper holder

Clojo – Toilet Paper Hanger
One of those ideas that we wish we had come up with. Studio Stallinga invented a clever and minimalistic way to reuse of clothes hangers to hold good old toilet paper -- they call it Clojo.

  • aquarium phone booth

Aquarium Phone Booth
With the rise of the mobile phone, old phone booths come on the market for reuse. Artists Benoit Deseille and Benedetto Bufalino turned one into an aquarium for the Lyon Light Festival in France. Speaking about their design, "With the advent of the mobile telephone, telephone booths lie unused. We rediscover this glass cage transformed into an aquarium, full of exotically colored fish; an invitation to escape and travel."
