Some Bakfiets bikes cost more than others, such as this heavy-duty daily rider called the De Fietsfabriek BF 18 that will set you back $3100.

The Dutch name Bakfiets (or Bakfietsen plural) means “Box Bike,” literally meaning a bike with a box on it. We think these bikes are so much more than that, making green urban transport a pleasure. What would you carry in your Bakfiets cargo bike?

To some it’s a Porsche that rocks the boat but for me it’s these cargo bikes. Maybe if I had the Porsche I’d change my mind!
