Isaac Cordal has been producing intricate sculptures using standard mesh cooking strainers. When light hits the mesh strainer it leaves the mysterious shadow of a human face on the sidewalk.
Isaac Cordal debuted this style of strainer art a few years ago in London. His urban installations consist of casting shadows from the metal cooking strainers’ faces onto the ground using streetlight. The strainers project mysterious-looking faces that seem to be cast from dolls and even statues. ‘Cement Bleak’ works best at night, but during the day the shadows change following the movement of the sun. We like ‘Cement Bleak’ because it’s a simple project that use little and standard materials but makes a big impact.
