Architect Laurent Sain Val and his team developed this incredible footbridge and cafe as an entry for a design competition calling for new bridge ideas for Amsterdam. Designed to be built in wood and steel, the architecture of the project is a site-sensitive form with an adjustable roof and facade able to optimize daylight, or protect the building from the elements. The design of the roof also allows for rainwater collection, and the amenities on-site include a café/restaurant, shop, and ample space to park bikes!
