Gallery: Andrew Gorovenko Uses Loose Tea to Create Exotic Landscapes

The boxes themselves utilize the notion of a triptych, or an image in three pieces.

By using the loose leaf tea itself to complete his exotic landscape illustrations, artist Andrew Gorovenko hoped to “capture the spirit of adventure of tea, the flavor of traveling, show an exotic and unforgettable world of tea in all its colors.” Looking closely at his representations of the Great Wall of China or Ceylon, one can see individual leaves, flowers and spices. The boxes themselves utilize the notion of a triptych, or an image in three pieces, to encourage the viewer to interact with the packaging and become interested in the narrative of the tea’s origin.
