Pop Arc Min HouseTypical Buenos Aires condos and apartments, called "PH", are arranged on long narrow plots accessible through alleys - a number of which are not very large. One couple decided to make the most of their extra patio space and build an addition to their one bedroom condo. Argentinian-based <a href="http://www.pop-arq.com/min-house/" target="_blank">Pop-Arq</a> designed the <a href="../green-renovation/" target="_blank">eco-addition</a> using <a href="http://inhabitat.com/2009/06/30/a77-architects-fashion-home-from-demolition-materials/" target="_blank">recycled materials </a>and exploding the space with an added stairwell, two bathrooms and more storage.1
Pop Arc Min HouseThe original home included a single room downstairs that served as the kitchen, living and dining, and a bedroom upstairs accessible by the front patio.2
Pop Arc Min HouseThe couple wanted a bit more space for themselves, so they hired Pop-Arq to design an eco-friendly addition to the home.3
Pop Arc Min HouseThe new addition includes a bathroom both upstairs and downstairs, along with a new stairwell and more storage.4
Pop Arc Min HouseThe exterior of the addition was constructed with recycled red tin. And because of the temperate Buenos Aires climate, the material could be thin and lightweight.5
