Biodegradable Pod Garden Makes Planting Fresh Herbs a Snap

The <a href="http://www.gardeningclan.com/pod-green-compact-mini-kitchen-herb-garden.html">Pod</a> is an eco-friendly compact kitchen <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/herb-garden/">herb garden</a> that is made out of biodegradable plastic for growing your favorite herbs in an optimal way! Created and developed by student <a href="http://www.behance.net/gallery/Pod-Herbs-for-the-Urbs/1906239">Joe Bradford</a>, this innovative herb garden requires minimal maintenance and can later be planted directly into the soil when the herbs have reached their maturity and need more space to grow.

<a href="http://www.behance.net/gallery/Pod-Herbs-for-the-Urbs/1906239">Joe Bradford</a> developed the Pod herb garden while he was a student at the <a href="http://www.wit.edu/">Wentworth Institute of Technology</a>.

It's designed to offer an easy way for urban residents to grow herbs and other plants at home. The pod's low-profile spherical shape easily fits on any kitchen counter, giving you immediate access to herbs while you cook.

Once a set of seeds has matured and outgrown the micro garden, it couldn't be easily to transplant them - simply drop the oxo-biodegradable plastic shell into a hole in the earth and the plants it contains will flourish.

The Pod even acts as its own packaging - it is designed to be sold complete with compressed dirt and seeds!
