Blackbody OLED TreeInhabitat first stumbled upon Blackbody during Milan Design Week earlier this year, but we were even more excited by what we saw at the LED lighting company's booth this morning at ICFF 2013 - life-size OLED trees! Like larger versions of the “Bonzai” lamps featured in Italy, the arboreal lamps are fitted with luminous OLEDs for an energy-efficient design that delights as it lights! Click through our gallery for more pics of this fun light fixture.1
Blackbody OLED TreeDesigned by world-renowned designer Aldo Cibic for Blackbody, "Blossom" is a large metallic light fixture that resembles a tree.2
Blackbody OLED TreeEach "branch" is fitted with ultra flat (2 mm thickness), long-lasting, glare-free, heat-free, and 100% recyclable OLEDs that give off a soft, white glow.3
Blackbody OLED TreeThe possibilities for this whimsical design are endless, but we can imagine it in a child's room, as mood lighting in a restaurant or just as a great conversation piece in a living room.4
Blackbody OLED TreeAt the show, we also learned that Blackbody will soon be opening the first OLED showroom in the world in New York City.5
Blackbody OLED TreeThe new location will be located at 25 Greene Street and feature all of their stat-of-the-art home lighting solutions. Stay tuned for more information about the opening.6
