Adding to its already impressive selection of prefab homes, Blu Homes unveiled a brand new two-story prefab home this week. The Lofthouse is a classic New England barn-style home complete with colonial-style windows and shutters. This modern, yet traditionally inspired home is aimed at those who are looking for a prefab home that can fit right in with the architectural vernacular of traditional and historic communities. Built with the same steel frame and unfolding technology of all their other homes, the Lofthouse is outfitted with finishes, fittings, appliances and systems for 50% higher energy performance and healthier living spaces.

Weather-controlled conditions inside Blu's East Longmeadow, Massachusetts factory improve the home's performance and efficient use of materials cuts down on waste.

The structural steel framed homes allow for high ceilings, lots of natural light and generous open spaces. Energy efficiency and sustainable strategies are included in all Blu Homes, which offer 50% energy savings over comparably-sized existing homes.

All Blu Homes are also built to withstand high snow loads, seismic activity, high winds, and are also fire, mold and termite resistant.

Designed to resemble a traditional New England barn-style home, the Lofthouse is intended for those looking for a more traditional style home that may even need to meet architectural guidelines for certain communities.

The Lofthouse exterior can be customized with Colonial-style windows and shutters or they can be left off and the windows expanded for a more modern aesthetic. Additional upgrades to the home can include a fireplace in the two-story living area or enclose the loft space to create an additional bedroom.

The prefab home starts at $335,000 with multiple bedroom options and 3 baths. Blu Homes is already taking advanced orders and expects the first homes to be delivered this winter.
