Brad Pitt’s Make it Right delivers first 3 LEED Platinum homes to Fort Peck Indian reservation

  • Fort Peck Reservation Make It Right
    The first three homes designed by Brad Pitt's nonprofit <a href="http://makeitright.org/" target="_blank">Make It Right </a> and five architecture studios and builders were just delivered to the <a href="http://inhabitat.com/brad-pitts-make-it-right-to-build-20-leed-platinum-homes-for-sioux-and-assiniboine-tribes-in-montana/architecture_for-_humanity_make_it_right/" target="_blank">Fort Peck Indian Reservation</a>. Make It Right plans to build a total of 20 Cradle to Cradle-inspired, <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/leed-platinum/" target="_blank">LEED Platinum</a> homes for tribe members in need of affordable housing. The first projects to get built are pitch-roofed <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/livinghomes/" target="_blank">LivingHomes </a>C6Ps, the first Energy Star-certified production homes with a LEED Platinum level environmental program and Cradle to Cradle inspired products.

  • Architecture_for_Humanity Make It Right
    Make It Right partnered with the Sioux and Assiniboine tribes of Fort Peck, Montana to build sustainable homes on their reservation.

  • GRAFT Make It Right
    The nonprofit pledged to build 20 Cradle to Cradle-inspired, LEED Platinum homes and developed a master plan for the entire reservation, which covers thousands of acres and is home to more than 6,000 Native Americans.

  • Living Homes Make It Right
    This initiative will address the issue of housing shortage in the area where more than 600 people are waiting for housing and multiple families commonly live together in two bedroom homes.

    Architects and designers from GRAFT, Sustainable Native Communities Collaborative, Architecture for Humanity, Method Homes and Living Homes designed five different models after consulting with tribal members, offering solar and geothermal-powered housing solutions with plenty of space for all family members.

    The designs aim to reflect the community, culture and history of the native people of Fort Peck and offer sustainable solutions to the local housing shortage.
