Bridgestone Pavilion Showcases Innovative Eco Technologies at Green Fair in Bangkok

    As part of rebuilding efforts in Thailand, <a href="http://www.bridgestone.co.th/th/news_and_activity/news_detail.aspx?id=348">Bridgestone</a> is showcasing some of its innovative eco technologies at the <a href="http://www.boifair2011.com/view/th/home/home.jsf">BOI (Board of Investment) Fair</a> in Bangkok right now with a slick pavilion designed by <a href="http://www.architectkidd.com/" target="_blank">architectkidd</a>. The goal of the Bridgestone Pavilion is to express sustainability and environmental commitments for Bridgestone's products, technologies, and company vision. The white and red pavilion named "Future Seed" features high performance films and coatings along with reused flooring materials and solar panels.

    Because of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Thailand_floods" target="_blank">floods in 2011</a>, Thailand is currently undergoing reconstruction, and the BOI Fair is part of a larger effort to encourage those efforts and restore economic and public confidence.

    Bridgestone's theme is "Going Green For the Future" with the goal of showcasing environmentally friendly technologies, materials and products that can help Thailand recover and grow in a more sustainable way.

    Bridgestone selected local firm <a href="http://www.architectkidd.com/index.php/2012/01/future-seed-bridgestone-pavilion/" target="_blank">architectkidd</a> to design and build their pavilion to show off a number of their technologies and materials.

    The pavilion, named "Future Seed," refers to Bridgestone's high performance products and technologies as well as their company commitment to sustainability.

    The exhibition design is by <a href="http://designlab.co.th/" target="_blank">DesignLAB</a> and construction coordinated by Pico.

    The curvilinear pavilion is formed form polymer-based materials and coated in a <a href="http://www.firestonebpco.com/roofing/epdm/ecowhite/" target="_blank">Firestone Ecowhite Rubbergard</a>, which is a flexible and reflective roofing membrane.

    The windows are coated with EVA heat-reflecting film laminated on the glass windows and doors of the pavilion.

    On the roof of the pavilion, <a href="http://panasonic.net/energy/solar/index.html" target="_blank">Panasonic/Sanyo</a> supplied light-transmitting solar panels (installed as a roof skylight) to produce energy for the temporary pavilion.

    The <a href="http://www.boifair2011.com/view/en/home/home.jsf" target="_blank">BOI Fair</a> began on January 5th and will be open to the public until January 20th where you can see a number of exhibits and pavilions like the Bridgestone Pavilion to learn about new eco friendly technologies and products.
