Re-Generator Skyscraper eVolo Skycraper Competition 2015The cellular Re-Generator Skyscraper co-exists with the natural environment and helps in the recovery of the Hangzhou wetlands in China, whose eco-systems have experienced serious deterioration due to a rapid population growth. The structure is meant to permeate its site and help the regeneration of eco-systems not only locally, but throughout the world. The project was awarded an honorable mention at this year's eVolo Skyscraper Competition.1
Re-Generator Skyscraper eVolo Skycraper Competition 2015The project addresses the issues of over-population and unsustainable construction techniques used across the globe.2
Re-Generator Skyscraper eVolo Skycraper Competition 2015 Competition 2015-3These problems are most acutely sensed in China, where urban sprawl and rapid change of natural landscapes call for an alternative way of building cities.3
Re-Generator Skyscraper eVolo Skycraper Competition 2015Gabriel Munoz Moreno designed the Re-Generator as a way of tackling these issues. The project was recognized by the jury of the eVolo Skyscraper Competition 2015 and was awarded honorable mention.4
Re-Generator Skyscraper eVolo Skycraper Competition 2015Each cell within the growing skyscraper is supplied with "inputs", which are elements that collect waste from the wetlands.5
Re-Generator Skyscraper eVolo Skycraper Competition 2015Different components act as parts of a cell and enable individual units to act as living organisms.6
