Eco-minded luxury yacht lovers are undoubtedly eyeing the Code-X-Yacht; a hybrid catamaran which according to Code-X, “unites radical purism, the optimal benefit of renewable energy and the sheer power of a racing machine in one boat.” The yacht, built by Switzerland-based Code-X, is powered by two Ilmor Marine 710 horsepower V10 Formula 1 engines, along with a bank of solar cells that store power in on-board lithium ion batteries.

this boat sort of reminds me of from a disney movie “The 100 lives of black jack savage” (1991) . im curious how fast the solar power drive system would be if it wasn’t lugging those 2 700+HP engines?
The solar powered yacht certainly looks like it is out of the future. How much is it retailing for?
Hi David.
I’m not sure myself how much this nifty yacht goes for, but you may want to ask Ariel (who wrote the article) herself. Her Twitter name is @arielhs. You can also ask our green transportation guru Jorge Chapa (@jorgechapa).
What a shape of Yatch. Its really very attractive But is this comfortable for family holiday?
