Nothing cures the blues like an island holiday - especially one taken in a lovely minimalist home like this one. The Norwegian talent behind the <a href="http://inhabitat.com/off-grid-hardanger-retreat-built-from-on-site-wood-dramatically-overlooks-norwegian-fjord/">off-grid Hardanger Retreat</a>, <a href="http://www.tommie-wilhelmsen.no/">Tommie Wilhelmsen</a>, designed this darling Dalene cabin for a summer escape in Østhusvik on Rennesøy Island. A <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/south-facing/">south-facing structure</a> filled with light, the 120 sqm cabin's swooping facade gives it an incredible sense of movement that counterbalances the silence of island life.

At only 120 sam it is decidedly minimalist

And has wrap-around tall windows

Which combined with a south-facing facade flood the interior with light

Interior panels are made of oak, and the exterior of fir

We don't love the concrete additions, but otherwise this cabin is a gem!
