David Trubridge Unveils Stunning New Flat Pack Lamps at Wanted Design

<a href="http://www.davidtrubridge.com/">David Trubridge Design</a> studio, located in Whakatu Industrial Park in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand">New Zealand</a>, crafts beautiful organic furniture using timber from sustainably-managed plantations. We've gushed over <a href="http://inhabitat.com/david-trubridges-flat-pack-lamps-unfold-into-illuminating-masterpieces/">Trubridge's flat-pack lamps</a> before, so we excited to meet up with him during <a href="http://inhabitat.com/new-york-design-week/">New York Design Week</a> at <a href="http://2012.wanteddesignnyc.com/">Wanted Design</a> where he showcased a new smaller series of pendant lamps that can be strung up in sets, a line of outdoor-friendly aluminum coral lights, and his Baskets of Knowledge collection, which was inspired by a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C4%81ori">Maori</a> myth.

<a href="http://www.davidtrubridge.com/">David Trubridge</a>'s sculptural designs are all finished using non-toxic natural oils, which give the pieces a natural look that suits their <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/organic-forms/">organic forms</a>.

Trubridge's website presents detailed accounts about each of the trees inspiring the designs so that prospective customers can read all about the Ulu - the Tahitian name for the Breadfruit tree - or the Nikau, the only indigenous palm tree in New Zealand.

Other designs are based on different natural forms, such as the clouds that linger over the Pacific Ocean.

Trubridge's workshop boasts great green credentials as well - it is powered by almost 70 percent hydro electricity.
