The Seed System was designed by David Trubridge as a flat-pack design that unfolds into a set of hanging lamps that range in size from one to eight feet high. The lamp is based upon the design concept of “minimum volume for maximum effect.” Trubridge developed a new parametric software program to determine the most efficient way they could be freighted as a kit set that would allow for easy portability and easy assembly at any destination.
Sustainability has always been at the center of David’s practice, and as the designer says of his design, “We are continually doing all we can to reduce our environmental footprint. Reducing the volume of our freight has the most impact and is the best thing we can do…”
