Gallery: Del Popolo is a Mobile Neapolitan Pizza Joint in a Recycled Sh...

Jon Darsky wanted to build a new pizza joint but he wanted to do it in style!

Darsky wanted customers to be able to see the authentic 5,000 pound wood-fired oven brought all the way from Naples, so he tore down one whole side of the shipping container and fitted it with framed glass doors. And we have to say, this combined with the black paint and oven gives the roaming pizzeria incomparable style.

The wood-fired oven is on the second level and – reaching temperatures of 800 degrees – cooks up delicious pies in 60 seconds flat. These are then delivered to the cashier on the lower level via a special rack. But we have to warn you: all of this goodness doesn’t come cheap. Del Popolo cost a whopping $180,000 to build, so Darksy will be flipping pies for a long time to pay it off!
