MATERIALS:
- Old black dress or shirt
- One yard red felt
- White and black felt or material
- Black marker
- Hot glue gun
- Optional sequins (one yard red) or glitter
STEP 1: THE FELT
Stop at your local fabric store on your lunch break and pick up some remnant felt. You’ll need about a yard of red, and enough black to make the phone dial (12 inches to 16 inches diameter), and just a scrap of white. Felt is fairly cheap, so this should cost you around $5.

Lori, your Lobster T-phone costume creation is a surreal delight! I edit the SALVADOR DALI COLLECTORS NEWSLETTER for the Salvador Dali Gallery, Inc. in San Juan Capistrano, CA (www.DaliGallery.com). We are the world’s only gallery dealing exclusively in authentic Salvador Dali fine art, and our latest newsletter publishes (electronically) this week, distributed by e-mail PDF subscription to 5,000+ Dali aficianados worldwide. I’d very much appreciate your permission to include a photo and sidebar story on your costume in our holiday season issue. Got a higher rez JPG you can send me? Pretty please??? (I think you’ve got the “pretty” part mastered superbly too
