Who do David Bowie, Richard Branson and Mick Jagger call when they need decorating advice? Why interior designer Linda Garland, of course. But despite Garland's decidedly posh aesthetic and clientele, her true passion is located in the rustic bamboo and coconut forests of Bali, at a place called the Panchoran Retreat. Garland designed the pristine getaway, which is characterized by its fantasy villas, sparkling waterfalls and sumptuous organic gardens, with sustainability in mind, using both the bamboo that grows wild in the area as well as old telephone poles purchased from the local government.

Tucked away within 25 acres of bamboo and coconut palm groves near Ubud, Bali, Panchoran is a little piece of paradise and the perfect way for anyone who is tired of taking elevators and getting stuck in revolving doors to reboot.

Everything is warm, inviting, natural materials, most of which are either recycled or locally sourced.

The five open-air guest villas are constructed from a combination of former Ironwood telephone poles that were purchased from the local government, and bamboo and native grasses taken right from the resort's backyard.

Despite the architecture being responsible and guilt-free, guests at Panchoran won't be at any loss for indulgences. Would you expect any less from the woman who gives Bowie design advice?
