Gallery: Modern Green Social Housing C...
The facade facing the street is white terracotta, the interior is formed out of untreated wood, and exterior aluminum frames prevent thermal bridging.
Located on a site in Bondy, a town east of Paris, the new social housing project is bordered by a gymnasium, school and suburban housing on avenue Henri Barbusse. The four-story building is shaped like a U, creating a protected interior courtyard and garden space for use by the residents. The roof of the building is reminiscent of traditional Parisian row houses with lofted ceilings. Daylighting and passive solar design plays a large role in each of the apartments and every room has access to natural light.
