Gallery: Elegant Biodegradable WallArt...

Sugarcane is the raw material

This chic modern WallArt tiles add an extra dimension to boring plain walls. Made from recycled bagasse (a fibrous residue leftover from the process of extracting the sweet juice from sugarcane stalks), these 3D tiles are recycled, and biodegradable. Produced by WallArt and designed by talented grads from the Dutch Design Academy of Eindhoven, the tiles are available in 12 elegant designs.

WallArt’s main component, bagasse, is considered to be one of the world’s most renewable materials. The substance is a by-product of the sugar cane industry, grows extremely fast, and can be harvested up to 3 times a year. For these reasons it is often used as a biofuel and for making pulp paper products.

A single WallArt commercial pack contains 12 tiles that cover a total area of 3 square meters. When assembled, they form a repeating pattern that playfully displays shadows and light, adding an extra dimension to your walls. They can be easily glued to most surfaces and painted in any color of the rainbow to suit different rooms.
