A good loaf of bread is what inspired this traditional, yet narrow prefab home. The ESLICE home is a Latvian creation designed to satisfy the desire for high quality of living, but at a reasonable cost. As the designers explain, ESLICE is exactly like a hearty piece of rye bread - satisfying, affordable, comforting, and simple. The thin profile home takes design ideas from traditional Latvian barns, uses machine cut wood to build the small structure and comes delivered completely furnished and ready to go.

Latvian architects Toms Kokins, Ēriks Grūbe and Mārtns Hermansons came up with the ESLICE prefab home as a way to find a balance between wants and needs.

The small two-story home has two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and living room, and can be delivered on the flat bed of a truck.

With a small footprint, customizable features, built-in cabinets, kitchen and installed appliances, the ESLICE seems like a lovely and easy answer to prefab homes.

The home has a pitched roof, reminiscent of Latvian barns and also makes it perfect for locations that need to shed snow, like ski areas.

The exterior is constructed out of NCS computerized saw cut wooden boards treated with linen oil and there is the option to add zinc trim.

The exterior can be painted or finished according to your desire and the interior has a flexible panel system that allows you to replace or repaint any of desired surfaces.

ESLICE has a simple two-story, two bedroom model as well as plans for a three story home, temporary housing, and multi-family developments.

The designers also see the prefab building perfect for hotels, ski cabins, port homes, and even residences for Olympic athletes in Sochi for the 2014 games.
