Gallery: Extraordinary Banana Art Etchings are Inspiring and Edible

Melbourne-based artist, Jun Gil Park is the creative genius behind this bunch of banana etchings.  His biodegradable masterpieces are inspired by Jazz icons like Dizzie Gillespie and the Cuban acoustic stylings of the Buena Vista Social Club. Extraordinary and eye-catching, the banana still boasts being edible when all is said and done.

The concept came to Park shortly after consuming the sweet and starchy insides of what would become his canvas. Toothpick in hand, he began to scratch the surface of the peel. The harder he scratched, the darker the lines became. After about five minutes the design emerged and a couple of days later the image had ripened to its full potential.
