The exhibition was held in order to present brand new design objects, and Fantastic Norway decided to honor that idea by making their installation speak to the thrill of unpacking a product. The cardboard boxes were hung throughout the 350m2 event hall, hovering over the various objects being exhibited. Cardboard Cloud was a big hit with showgoers and even garnered attention on rapper Kanye West’s blog. And while this particular installation was handled by professionals, who’s to stop you from recreating it on a smaller scale in your house or apartment?
Really interesting piece, I would have loved to see them use life boxes instead of regular boxes and have plants start to grow out of the boxes, or when they recycled them donated them to urban gardens to help green urban areas.
