• Fantastic Norway Cardboard Cloud
Looking very much like a pixelated cloud right out of an old school Super Mario game, this giant mass of cardboard boxes floated above visitors to the Centre for Design and Architecture (DogA) in Oslo, Norway. Conceived and implemented by Fantastic Norway, the installation was made up of over 3,000 cardboard boxes in all shapes and sizes. After the "Cardboard Cloud" served its purpose as a delightful spectacle that loomed over the event space, it was taken apart and all of the boxes were recycled after the show.

The exhibition was held in order to present brand new design objects, and Fantastic Norway decided to honor that idea by making their installation speak to the thrill of unpacking a product.

The cardboard boxes were hung throughout the 350m2 event hall, hovering over the various objects being exhibited.

The clustered boxes created nooks and crannies and descended to the floor at some spots to surround some of the displays.

Cardboard Cloud was a big hit with showgoers and even garnered attention on rapper Kanye West's blog.

And while this particular installation was handled by professionals, who's to stop you from recreating it on a smaller scale in your house or apartment?

Some of the cardboard "clouds" were high above the showgoers' heads and some were lower to the ground.
